Hello, I’m Toni Grayer, the 23rd President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Lambda Tau Omega Chapter (LTO). As a 42-year member of this amazing sisterhood, I am pleased to welcome you to our website!

LTO was chartered in 1978 by 18 forward-thinking women. They laid a strong foundation for impactful service and sisterhood throughout the Far South Suburban Chicagoland area. For 48 years, our members have continued the legacy by aligning with the initiatives of our International President.

The theme for the 2026-2030 International Administration is Championing Service. Empowering Sisterhood. Transforming the World. Our Signature Program will be AKA FOSTER THE FUTURE: FROM HERE TO HOPE. Our eight (8) remaining targets will be:

Lambda Tau Omega’s local impact includes:

• • • Target 1 – Through its partnership with Twenty Pearls Foundation, Inc., the chapter supports scholarships, mentoring, and educational development for youth in the Chicago Southland.
    • Target 2 – LTO has partnered with social-service organizations to help bridge gaps in services and has provided holiday food baskets, cold-weather items, and other resources to families in need. LTO has also partnered with a local school to provide weekly meals for children.
    • Target 3 – LTO conducts heart health workshops and an annual public blood drive, providing opportunities for residents to learn about health while connecting with potentially life-saving resources.
    • Target 4 – LTO contributes to economic empowerment through financial-literacy programming, scholarships, professional development, and mentoring.
    • Target 5 – LTO created a community vegetable garden in Olympia Fields and participated in tree planting and recycling initiatives throughout the Southland.
    • Target 6 – LTO’s partnership with Twenty Pearls Foundation gives LTO an important mechanism for connecting scholarship, culture, youth development, and philanthropy.
    • Target 7 – LTO is committed to serving diverse communities and addressing both local and broader societal concerns.
    • Target 8 – LTO provides undergraduate women with access to the professional knowledge, mentorship, networks, and leadership development necessary to successfully transition from college to career.

Today, our chapter has grown from the original 18 charter members to over 300 dynamic women who remain steadfast in proudly fulfilling our mission of providing “Service to All Mankind.”
